What happens after I submit a quote request? We'll quickly get in touch with you and if necessary ask a little more about what you're wanting to achieve so that we can serve you and your project as well as we possibly can. We'll work out a competitive price taking into account all your requirements, and if you're happy we can book a suitable date for your session(s). We'll then work with you each step of the way to help you produce some amazing music. What musical genres do you work with? Mike's production skills focus on acoustic and electric 'real' instruments but often incorporate some electronic and programmed elements. Intimate acoustic material, folk, jazz and rock as well as more ambient styles are all fair game! Mike was a full-time keyboard/piano player in a previous life so he can also add a lot with those skills. He regularly mixes full-on rock tracks too and knows how to make it punchy and give it attitude! How do you go about turning my songs into full arrangements? Mike will start by listening to your songs and discussing arrangement ideas with you. Usually your playing and singing will be at the core of the production. We have some amazing sample libraries to fill out the sound with drums, bass, keys etc, and/or we can hire in professional session musicians (including orchestral instrumentalists) to play additional parts. Our main objective is always to help you turn your vision for your music into vibrant reality! What if we don't need a producer/arranger, we just want a great recording of our band? No problem. We can record (and mix) your band using our high quality gear and years of experience to capture your sound just as you want it. Can you master my record as well as mix it? Mastering is the final polishing stage of the audio production process. Clients are often so pleased with our mixes that they ask us to master them too - which we are happy to do. You are of course welcome to take the mixes for mastering elsewhere if you prefer. Can I come and sing or rap over a pre-recorded track from YouTube etc? Yes you can, but it's not our specialism and you might prefer to look elsewhere for that. Can you program EDM, Grime or modern R&B tracks for me to use? No, there are other studios and producers who specialise in those genres. Do you record podcasts and voiceovers? Yes we do, and we have a number of clients who book us for voice work. Recent clients have included Audible, Sony Music and the BBC One Show. |
