STUDIO SERVICES AND PRICING
NBR is one of the most competitively priced recording studios in Brighton, but that does not mean compromising on quality! We understand that being 'on the clock' in the studio can be a pressure that inhibits creativity, so there is some flexibility with prices and times.
Our standard recording rate is £25 per hour including engineer and full use of everything in the studio. For recording drums we ask for an additional one-off fee of £25 because of the amount of time involved in prepping and setting up the microphones etc. For smaller projects we can mix and master your song as part of the session and supply mp3 or wav files there and then. The minimum price for a one-off session is £30.
Larger recording projects
If you are wanting to record an EP or full album we can offer great value bespoke rates and could include tracking, production assistance (if required), editing and mixing. We also offer mastering and CD authoring services. We can arrange for CD duplication or replication, and advise on digital distribution. Please contact us to discuss your requirements, and we can work out a favourable rate for your whole project.
For professionally mixing your pre-recorded tracks the fee is £100 for a full band song mix of up to six minutes long - this typically takes several hours and you can have up to three sets of tweaks/revisions included. £60 for a low track-count song such as an acoustic piece (8 audio tracks or less). Any editing or vocal tuning required before mixing begins will be charged at £20 per hour.
Mastering and CD authoring
We can polish up your mixes and make them sound full, clear and loud. £20 per song, or just £10 if we did the mix! We'll supply wav and/or mp3 files. We can also compile and sequence red-book standard CD's and supply master disks - £35 per album to include one physical CD. Call for more details.
£9 per hour. The studio is available at certain times for rehearsal. A basic drum kit, good bass amp and vocal PA are provided, but you will probably want to bring some of your own gear such as drum breakables and guitar amps, as we currently only have basic practice amps.
£27 per hour. Mike Sandeman can teach you studio craft. If you would like to become proficient in the use of modern Digital Audio Workstations, song arrangement, programming, working with microphones & preamps, compressors and EQ etc, he'd be delighted to help. Lessons last for an hour and are individually tailored to what you want to learn! Ideal for children as well as adults. Keyboard tuition is also available.
We are well connected with great musicians, so if you need a pro-player for your project, let us know and it can be arranged. Call us for prices.
A £15 deposit is required to secure bookings which is deducted from the final bill. Credit/debit cards, cash and bank transfer accepted.
